WARNING !!!

MEMBERS OF GUERNSEY-MUSKINGUM ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC.

Monday April 22nd at least two cooperative members were contacted by an unknown phone caller. This caller asked for the members account number and meter readings. He claimed there was a check or credit due them! The member recipients did not give the caller any requested information. We must assume that if the conversation continued, there would have been a request for a credit card number, Social Security number, or personal information of value.

THIS PHONE CALLER DID NOT REPRESENT GUERNSEY-MUSKINGUM ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC. Cooperative employees do not need account numbers, occasionally will ask for a meter reading when there is a “reason”, and will never ask for a credit card number unless you, the member, desire to make some payment arrangement. Never reveal information to anyone on the phone which you are not comfortable with, including your cooperative. Thanks!
