Washington D.C. Youth Tour
Washington Youth Tour Contest Rules
Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative, Inc. recognizes
outstanding high school student leaders in its service area by conducting an open-book
quiz and interview and awarding two winners a week-long trip to Washington, D.C.
each summer.
Only high school sophomores and juniors are eligible and
participants must be the son or daughter of, or have as legal guardian, a member
of Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative, Inc. at the time of the tour.
The tour will be coordinated through the Ohio Rural Electric
Cooperatives, Inc. (OREC), Columbus, and will include a variety of activities aimed
at educating and involving students in our country's history and governmental process.

This contest is open to high school sophomores and juniors. |

A completed application form (available by calling the Cooperative at
(1-800-521-9879) must be returned to Member Services Manager, Guernsey-Muskingum
Electric Cooperative, Inc., 17 South Liberty Street, New Concord, OH 43762.
Applications must be received at the Cooperative by the scheduled application deadline.

Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative, Inc. will administer an open-book quiz
at the Cooperative's office located at 17 South Liberty Street, New Concord, Ohio.
(A study guide will be mailed upon receipt of application.) This quiz will be followed
by a short interview with a panel of judges.

Rules - Statewide

All tour participants must submit a consent form signed by the participant's parent(s)
and/or legal guardian(s) before being allowed to make the tour. OREC will provide
the appropriate consent forms for completion by all participants. |

All tour participants must submit a health and medical authorization form, which
will be supplied by OREC. |
 |
Participating cooperatives must supply OREC with the name and address of tour winners
no later than May 1 of each year.

Members of the immediate families and/or persons residing in the households of Cooperative
trustees, management personnel, and/or employees of the Cooperative are not eligible
to participate in the youth tour contest and serve as winner of tour. |
