Mobile Home Service Entrance
Single Phase 120/240 Volt Service Specifications:
The following
recommendations
have the purpose of safeguarding members and employees, and of providing adequate
service to all members.
These
recommendations and
the
specifications listed below are minimum standards.
In addition to compliance with these standards, all electrical installations must
comply with the National Electric Code and any state or local laws that may be in
force at the time.
Recommendations:

All new or renovated single dwellings shall have a minimum main service capacity
of 100 amp.

All meters shall be located so as to be exposed and accessible from the outside.
|
 |
The main service panel shall be located at a readily accessible location nearest
the point of entrance of the service entrance conductors.
|
 |
All conduit threads and threaded or threadless fittings used must be made watertight.
|
 |
To conform with the National Electrical Safety Code when planning a service, the
following minimum clearances.

Parking areas subject to truck traffic.

Service conductors shall have a clearance of not less than
3 feet from windows, doors, porches, fire escapes, or similar locations.

Consumer wiring systems and equipment shall not be installed on poles owned by Guernsey-Muskingum
Electric Cooperative.
|
 |
In underground installations, the depth of the trench and the use of conduit are
safety measures which must be adhered to. It is advisable to keep underground services
to a maximum of 150 ft.

When using aluminum conductors, electric joint compound must be applied at all connections.
Copper and aluminum must not be terminated under the same connector unless the connector
is of the bi-metal type.

All meters of Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative are sealed. These seals shall
not be broken other than by qualified personnel of the Cooperative or its designated
agent.

For Aluminum Conductors: Use aluminum electrical joint compound at all
connections.
NOTE: If mast is used instead of entrance cable, the mast must
be 2" Galvanized Conduit
